I don’t know about you, but where I come from the Army means something special. Men and women who dedicate their lives to preserving the luxuries most of us take for granted. People who risk their lives in the pursuit of freedom for all.
An army is a fighting force, but an army is also a peace keeping regime. They can be hard and they can be soft. That’s part of the beauty of it. When two opposites collide wonderful things tend to happen.
The Army is an amazing collection of people from all over the country. From all different cultures and backgrounds. With a huge variety of hopes and dreams of their own. But at their core they are all, each one of them, Americans.
The Army is the ultimate expression of American unity. It is the personification of the ‘Great Melting Pot’. Where Mexican-Americans, Italian-Americans, Afro-Americans and all other kinds of good people come together to join forces to defend what we love and hold dear. It’s quite beautiful really when you think of it in these terms.
For all our many differences, when it really matters, when it counts most. Good men and women are truly able to come together and become a single unified force for the defence of our diverse and collective nation. Both in the Army as well all the brave branches of our military forces.
